About This Accreditation

CHECK is a scheme administered by the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) that approves organizations to conduct authorized penetration testing of UK Government systems and networks. CHECK approval is the highest level of penetration testing accreditation available for testing UK public sector infrastructure. Scope of Certification

Covers authorized penetration testing of UK Government departments, agencies, and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) networks and systems. Includes infrastructure testing, web application testing, and wireless network testing of public sector environments.

Audit and Assessment Process

CHECK approval requires staff to hold CREST CRT or CCT qualifications (which are recognized by NCSC for CHECK purposes). The organization must also be CREST-accredited. CHECK approval is validated through the NCSC CHECK scheme and listed on the NCSC website.
