EthTrust Security Levels
Enterprise Ethereum Alliance security level certification for smart contracts.
Overview
The EthTrust Security Levels specification, published by the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), defines three tiers of smart contract security assurance: Level [S] (Solidity-specific checks), Level [Q] (quality assurance with testing), and Level [M] (mature security with formal verification). CodeMiners targets Level [M] for critical smart contracts, providing the highest available assurance for enterprise blockchain deployments.
Governing Body
Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA)
Scope of Certification
Defines security requirements across three levels: Level [S] covers Solidity-specific security checks, Level [Q] adds test coverage and quality assurance, and Level [M] requires formal verification and advanced security analysis.
Audit and Assessment Process
Assessment is performed against the published specification. Automated tools verify Level [S] and [Q] requirements. Level [M] requires formal verification using tools such as Certora, K Framework, or similar. Certification is self-assessed or verified by an EEA-recognized assessor.
Key Requirements
- Level [S]: Static analysis passing all Solidity security checks
- Level [Q]: Comprehensive test suite with branch and condition coverage
- Level [M]: Formal verification of critical invariants
- Documentation of security properties and assumptions
Compliance Entitlements
- Tiered security assurance levels for smart contracts
- Enterprise-grade blockchain security certification
- Formal verification for critical contracts at Level [M]
- Published by the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
Client Benefits
- Provides a standardized, tiered measure of smart contract security maturity
- Enterprise-grade assurance for blockchain deployments
- Formal verification at Level [M] provides mathematical proof of correctness
